Title

Family in Japan (Kishiro and Tomi's families)

Description

This album was created by Karen Tei Yamashita after Tomi's death in 1970s. Karen put together an album of photographs in Tomi Yamashita's possession organizing the albums roughly based on each of family members. This album contains images of Kishrio and Tomi's families in Japan with photographs we think are from the 1920s to the 1950s. Karen created on album of Kishiro's family labelled Kohei (after one member of that family) and created a second album lablled Murakami (for Tomi's maiden name).  The photographs in this collection are labelled and appear in the order that they appear in this album. Before this, they were kept in a box as separate photographs.

Other collections in the Yamashita Family Archive include albums that were created contemporaneously to the images of the period.
