Description

This album was created by Karen Tei Yamashita after Tomi's death in 1970s. Karen put together an album of photographs in Tomi Yamashita's possession organizing the albums roughly based on each of family members. This album contains images of Tomi and Kishiro's first child Kimi, her childhood, adolescence in Japan where she was raised by her maternal grandparents in Tokyo and her return to Oakland to get married. 

The photographs in this collection are labelled and appear in the order that they appear in this album. Before this, they were kept in a box as separate photographs.
