The Department of Justice releases a statement saying that the people detained at Tule Lake and Justice Department camps are not released as are people from all of the other camps. The attorney general, Tom C. Clark, will review these cases. “These persons will be continued in interment pending final review of their cases by the Attorney General and approval by the military authorities of the removal of hostile Japanese nationals to Japan.” 6700 people are detained at Tule Lake. Some are people who renounced their citizenship, some at Japanese nationals from Hawaii, Alaska, and Latin America. Some 2,000 are voluntary internee. And some are on parole and supervised by Immigration Services.
