1946 7 22 Letter from Kay to Tomi and John

Kay writes to her mom in romaji for the first page, and finishes by telling about Neich's discomfort in Baltimore. Bob is working at Seabrook as a grocery clerk earning 87 cents per hour. He wants to start a business and Kay says that his whole philosophy on life has changed.

Kay is worried about Neich's health and high blood pressure. She supervises negroes working at the kitchens at the hospital. She thinks they should move to Phillie. She thinks taht Neich has been nervous and stressed since they got married. Ted is expecting a kid from Barbara, and he has no job lined up.

Kay talks about visiting people in Phillie and New York and the dumpy situations that they are in.  She also regrets not visiting Iyo who is worried because Min does not come home some nights.  Kay also wonders if she should take an overseas civil service assignment.  Ted has advised her against it because of the risk of disease.  Page4: She talks about Kiku going to summer camp and the Kitows giving up money for their own vacation.  Kay pushed for that because he gets prodded from adults a lot.  It seems that Tom puts on heir according to Kay's comments "Got to keep him down to my level"
