Description
Letter from Thomas J. Mahan, acting District Relocation Officer, informing hostel residents that the Relocation Office will be closing in April 1946. The Berkeley and Oakland Community Chests has donated funds to the International Institute of Alameda County to hire Ms. Jane Davis to assist Japanese Americans with their problems in housing, employment, property, health and welfare, legal matters, deportation proceedings, and social activities. This position will last from April 1946 to the end of the year.
Mahan writes, "We wish the best of success in the years to come and trust that with the help of the community you will be able to re-establish your home and again live a normal life."
