Kay is staying at (Quaker) Pooh Bailey's house in the country, whom she met at the Mill Institute and visited her in Tanforan. Bailey has taken in 2 girls from Topaz. Kay has appreciated the kindness of others. Kimiko had the baby. Kiyo is having a baby as well. Kay praises Henry Patterson, the WRA officer in Phillie and his wife for profusely helping JA's. Kay advises them to come to Philadelphia/East and advises them not to get into farming because of the tough life. The problems of camp evacuees flooding into Chicago, without enough help. AFSC helps out where WRA is insufficient. Kay has helped package gifts for the kids in Eastern Internment Camps. The Service Committee is sending clothing to war-torn Europe. Kay describes the independent-minded JA's who have come to Philadelphia. Kay is incompatable with Bob Omata. Mom Tomi and "EDC" leave document (?). Kay is speaking on a panel discussion to young people in New Jersey. (subj not stated).
